My Dream Work Day

With Naomi Judd's recent passing, it has me thinking about my own depression and anxiety.  Have I hidden in my own house for two years?  Kind of...especially these last two years during the pandemic.  I'll admit, it was nice.  It is also nice to be out of the house as well.  I am grateful that I do not need to leave the house every day though.

What does my life look like when depression and anxiety take a backseat?  It has to start with the day before, right?

7:00 - 8:00 PM:  Enjoy the day by sitting with my beautiful wife in the living room with our tiny family while watching a recorded program or Wheel of  Fortune followed by Jeopardy.  Of course, getting a few of the puzzles and answers correct doesn't hurt.

8:00 - 9:00 PM:  Getting the bed ready; take meds; wash face/brush teeth; get workout clothes and work clothes ready for the next day; clean kitchen; pick up stuff off the floor and flat surfaces; let the dogs out one more time; pick-up the outdoor cat food

9:00 - 10:00 PM:  Read; snuggle with the family

10:00 PM - 5:30 AM:  Sleep hard with no interruptions.

5:30 AM:  Wake; coffee; help feed the zoo

6:00 AM:  Get ready to workout

6:15 AM:  Either leave for the gym, heat out for a walk/run, or do yoga at home

7:30 AM:  Scoop litter box; shower; start chores

8:00 AM:  Dress for the day; eat breakfast; start watering the gardens; take meds

8:30 AM:  Catch up on personal emails, messages, videos

9:00 AM:  Start work (from home); scan through emails for anything urgent; send move-in emails

9:30 AM:  Answer the easy emails and file those away

10:00 AM:  Start in on tougher current tenant items

10:30 AM:  Morning break:  snack and work on chores

10:45 AM:  Continue with current tenant items

12:00 PM:  Lunch:  eat, relax

12:30 PM:  Light work, pick up the desk, shred any items, get mail ready for tomorrow; work on chores

1:00 PM:  Answer any lunch emails

2:00 PM:  Start on applications

3:15 PM:  Afternoon break:  snack and work on chores

3:30 PM:  Finish applications

4:00 PM:  Tie up loose ends

4:30 PM:  Check the calendar and get things ready for the next day

5:00 PM:  End the workday; feed the zoo; start dinner

5:45 - 7:00 PM:  Finish dinner; eat; work on chores

This all sounds like no big deal, right?  When you have depression and anxiety, any one of those items is painful.  Of course, one wants to avoid pain.  This is what my day looks like if depression and anxiety just didn't exist.
